Was visiting Birmingham and randomly searched Yelp for breakfast spot near Homewood. Yelp did not disappoint. Food here is a bit pricey ($4.50 for 1 4" pancake!) and they hit me with an egg surcharge but breakfast is no longer guaranteed to be the cheapest meal of the day. Our server, others on staff, the ambiance and tastiness of the food more than made up for the increased cost. We can see where this spot will probably be super busy on weekends so plan accordingly, order a breakfast "beverage" and make the best of your wait.

Ruby Sunshine is always good for a fulfilling meal. The customer service is always great. Luckily, we didn't have to wait and was able to walk in and be seated. Outside seating was available, which is always great. Yes, the pollen is terrible right now but our waitress wiped our table and chairs clean. Nice breeze and great coffee, perfect brunch. We started with the French toast bites, excellent! I ordered a cheese omelette meal, the omelette was great but could have been seasoned a little more. The biscuit with the cinnamon butter was delicious. The grits were good but could have been a little thicker. Overall, the meal was good, customer service was great and the vibe was family friendly.

The food was amazing and the service was wonderful. Danyelle was our server and she was go delightful, very conversation, checked on us several times, my order had the be remade cause I am not a spicy food person. But she had no problem with the and kept me informed on the arrival of my order. It was like we had known her for years, super sweet. I will be back and will be looking for her. It's a very nice place, atmosphere was pleasant and lots of parking which was nice.

Fun place to stop in for a Saturday brunch. Started with mimosas and tasty, warm beignets to start. High reviews for both the Peacemaker and Gulf Shrimp omelet dishes. Unfortunately, the Costa Rican breakfast came out ice cold with hammered eggs.

I wanted a new place that I could go to while my tires were being replaced. I found this gem in my search and after seeing the menu, I had to try it! To learn a bit of the story that started the business (or at least the name), made me appreciate this spot even more. (See photo) We went on a Saturday late morning (about 10:30). The restaurant was quite full, with lots of people out on the patio. There isn't much parking available so it can be tricky to get a spot. There is some street parking available as well. I loved the vibe of the restaurant. There is a bar area for those wishing to sit there and enjoy brunch mimosas. I also love the tall booths that provide a more private dining area from the tables in front of you and behind you. Our server was Trey. He gave us some helpful information about the menu items and gladly shared his favorite dishes upon asking. He was prompt, polite and professional. He did get a large party outside so my coffee cup sat empty but he came in and apologized for that. Now the food.... My son got the Costa Rican Breakfast and really enjoyed it. He said it would be even better with a starch, perhaps potatoes. I had the Eggs Cochon and let me tell you.. it was a solid 10/10!!!! The flavor in the meat alone was outstanding. Two poached eggs. A biscuit for that comfort element, along with spinach for the healthy element. Then add the incredible creaminess and burst of flavor in the hollandaise sauce... perfection! I savored every bite and left NO CRUMBS! I will absolutely be back to this location. I will just have a hard time getting something different from the dish that was perfect and throughly enjoyed.

Brunch at Ruby Sunshine was a delightful experience with excellent service and a cozy atmosphere. The Three Little Pig omelette was hearty and flavorful, packed with just the right amount of smoked meat. The mint chocolate beignets were a fun and unique twist, perfectly fried with a subtle hint of mint that paired nicely with the rich chocolate. The biscuits and gravy were classic comfort food done right, with fluffy biscuits and a savory gravy that hit the spot. Everything came out fresh, and the staff was friendly and attentive, making for an all-around enjoyable meal.

Super tasty brunch! I love that you can pick two benedicts as I can never pick just 1! They have a lot of good seasonal options too!

The sun is definitely shining here! My friends and I chose to dine here this morning for our girl's trip brunch. Who would have thought grits and Brussels sprouts go together? And did!!! The crispy chicken was perfectly seasoned, and the grits didn't need anything added. Cooked to perfection. The service was cool. Our server, Tyler W., was attentive. This is a casual spot so come as you are. There is an option for outside dining as well. If you come on the weekend, come early or you will wait!!! I will definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.
